Gitika Sachdev
Hello All! My name is Gitika Sachdev, I’m a Second Year on-campus student at Queens University. I am very excited to get to work with all of you this semester! I started my first job when I was 16 as an assistant Receptionist at Bayshore Healthcare, where I worked during the summer and winter breaks throughout the rest of High-school. This was a formative work experience for me as it pushed me out of my comfort zones, as I was always a very shy and soft-spoken child, who had difficulty interacting with people I wasn’t familiar with. It pushed me to be be much more outgoing and as the “face” of the company taught me a level of professionalism at a very young age. Since my first job I am much more confident in my own voice and ability to present my self in formal/corporate settings which has helped me with other interviews and summer jobs. This past summer I completed an internship at Sprott Inc. in Downtown Toronto, where I focused the majority of my time in Legal aspects and the Human Relations of the company. I feel as though this course will help me figure out what career opportunities I would like to pursue in the future as well as a deeper understanding of policies and governance in the workplace.
